Cold Mirrors

Acting as the inverse of a Hot Mirror, our Cold Mirrors reflect the full visible spectrum while allowing infrared (IR) heat to pass straight through. This is the perfect solution for systems where heat must be vented away from the light path, such as in microscope illumination engines, UV-cure printers, and architectural luminaires with tight thermal budgets. On stage, they allow designers to hit talent with a crisp spotlight while safely routing damaging heat toward a heat sink.

These visible-reflecting coatings are deposited on the same robust, heat-resistant glass substrates. We can produce them in any size or shape, from 5 mm indicator tiles to 450 mm condenser plates, with options for protective over-coats or custom tuning for a specific angle of use. Like the rest of the KUPO Optics line, every Cold Mirror clears MIL-M-13508C for humidity, adhesion, and abrasion—ready for any lab, production floor, or lighting grid.
