BH-A17 delivers a tall, ≥ 93 % transmission window centred on 830 nm while crushing visible light to sub-percent levels—perfect for 808/820 nm diode lasers, NIR LEDs and fluorescence channels.  A steep < 8 nm edge separates the band from unwanted spectra, and modest “peek” windows at ~390 nm and ~1120 nm simplify coaxial alignment or dual-band sensing.  The ion-beam-sputtered oxide stack shrugs off heat, humidity and solvents, meeting MIL abrasion specs without flaking. KUPO offers rapid tweaks—shift the centre wavelength, flatten the side windows, or tune for different AOI—and ships prototypes in as little as two weeks, from 5 mm chips up to 450 mm plates.

Description

BH-A17 is KUPO Optics’ precision 815–840 nm passband filter built for diode-laser illumination, fluorescence excitation, and NIR machine-vision tasks that demand surgical wavelength selection. A densely packed hard-oxide stack opens a tall, ≥93.5 % transmission window centred near 830 nm while crushing stray light to <0.5 % across the remainder of the visible band. Two deliberately modest “peek” windows—one around 390 nm (~20 % T) and another near 1120 nm (~18 % T)—provide simple alignment beacons or multispectral reference points without compromising primary-band contrast.

Key advantages

  • High-contrast 820 nm passband — ≥92 % peak T with <8 nm edge steepness delivers crisp, high-power throughput for 808/820 nm diode lasers.

  • Deep out-of-band blocking — <1 % T from 430 nm to 760 nm and 880 nm to 1125 nm shields sensors from visible flare and second-order IR.

  • Built-in alignment windows — Controlled sidebands at ~390 nm and ~1120 nm simplify coaxial beam set-up or enable two-wavelength sensing.

  • Hard-oxide durability — Ion-assisted layers shrug off heat, humidity, chemicals, and lens-wipe abuse on production floors.

  • Rapid customisation — Centre wavelength trims, alternative AOIs, or elimination of side windows available in lead times as short as two weeks.

Typical applications

  • 808/820 nm diode-laser modules — Clean up pump beams for medical therapy, Raman, or fiber-coupling systems.

  • Fluorescence imaging — Excite Cy7-like dyes while dumping visible autofluorescence and stray IR.

  • NIR machine-vision lighting — Pair with 820 nm LED bars to maximise signal-to-noise on silicon cameras.

  • LiDAR & ToF sensors — Tighten receiver bandwidth around 830 nm transmitters to boost eye-safety margins.

  • Multispectral crop monitoring — Use as a discrete NIR channel while the 390 nm peek doubles for UV-A index reference.
